Tacticool Derp: Tactical Footwear

IMG_20150710_154122634

I like flip flops. A lot. As soon as I get home from work every day, I toss my Red Wing’s aside, and basically refuse to put socks of laced shoes back on until it’s time to get ready for work again.

I laugh a little inside every time I slide my flip flops on about something I read on a web forum a few years back. There was a discussion about every day carry, and one commenter mentioned that he would NEVER go out in public wearing flip flops, because if he were involved in a tactical dynamic defensive incident that he wouldn’t be able to get off the X quick enough in flip flops.

I think it’s silly. Listen, if you carry, carry, but don’t let hypothetical made up scenarios (tactical derp) in your head keep you from living how you want to. Me? I’ll be putting socks back on sometime around 5am Monday morning.

  1. Check out Redwing 923 boots. I put them on a 6:30 am and take them off before bed and never think about my feet all day. Also the toe of a 923 boot makes a very good weapon.
