HB17 Passed the House

Earlier today, House Bill 17 (the bill that formerly contained a restaurant carry provision) was overwhelmingly passed in the NC State House on a 97-20 vote. While I wish this bill still contained the restaurant carry provision, this is still a big win for gun owners in NC. This bill makes the records of pistol purchase permits, and concealed carry permits confidential. The bill will now be sent over to the State Senate, where I …

NC Restaurant Carry Bill Killed by House Leadership

This morning the NC House Judiciary Committee met to discuss House Bill 17, which is the bill containing restaurant carry, and a provision making concealed carry, and pistol purchase permit records private. Strangely, the bill showed up to committee missing the restaurant carry portion of the bill. It appears that house leadership (Allegedly Speaker Thom Tillis) asked for that portion of the bill to be removed, and it was. The confidentiality part was apparently well …

Colorado Magazine Capacity Legislation (HB 1224)

As you surely know, the state of Colorado has passed some legislation in both houses that will limit magazine capacity to 15 rounds in the state (HB 1224). Many are claiming that this law is poorly written, and that it will have many “unintended consequences.” After watching the video below ask yourself: is it written poorly, or is it written exactly the way the gun grabbers wanted it written? It seems to me that this …

Feinstein’s “Assault Weapon” Ban Advances

Yesterday, Sen. Diane Feinstein’s ludicrous “Assault Weapon” ban passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 10-8 party line vote. I’m hearing from many in our community that they are “confident that it won’t pass the House”. I’m not so confident. I don’t think that we should rely on our last possible roadblock to stop this ridiculous legislation. Instead, we need to be vigilant in calling, writing, and emailing our Senators this week. Here in NC …

Com·pro·mise

Com·pro·mise Noun: An agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions. Verb: Settle a dispute by mutual concession.   Compromise is the settlement of a dispute that is reached by EACH SIDE making concessions. The gun grabbers in congress are using the word compromise over and over again when talking about our 2nd Amendment rights, yet, they don’t seem to understand the meaning of the word. They have …

Joe Biden Knows Gun Control Doesn’t Work!

I don’t know about you, but frankly, it scares me that Joe Biden is 1st in line for the presidency, should something happen to “dear leader”. Those on the left tell us over and over again that gun control is about the children, or about keeping the streets safe, or whatever the catch phrase is this week, yet, even slow Joe Biden seems to get it. He knows that gun control will do nothing to …

What Does Diane Feinstein Really Want?

Does the good Senator from California want just to ban “assault weapons” or does she want to take away a whole lot more? I came across this video tonight that compares what she says now, to a video taken of her right after the 1994 “assault weapon” ban. I think it’s clear that Feinstein wants your AR-15, your Glock, your Grand Dads deer rifle, and anything else that throws lead at a high rate of …

Illinois Concealed Carry Ban Struck Down!

Today, a federal court Judge struck down Illinois ban on concealed carry, and ruled that the state has 180 days to draft legislation allowing concealed carry! This is big news, as Illinois was the last hold out, with all of the other 49 states allowing some sort of concealed carry. Fox News Article on Illinois Concealed Carry You may remember that it was just a couple years ago that Chicago’s handgun ban was struck down …
