An Unscientific Case Study on Pro and Anti-Gun Bumper Stickers

Last Wednesday (just minutes before my car blew up) I decided while driving home from work that I would start keeping track of the amount of pro-gun and anti-gun bumper stickers that I see on my commute across Raleigh every day. I basically only had one rule: I wouldn’t count the stickers if I saw them in parking lots (not fair, because I spend a lot of time at gun and sporting good type stores) …

Anti-gun PSA Encourages Kids to Bring Guns to School

I have several problems with this video, but the biggest one is that instead of encouraging kids to have a dialogue with their parents when they have something they are concerned about, it encourages theft, unsafe/illegal transport of a firearm, violation of the Gun Free Schools Act, and a while lot more bad juju. See, if the kid in the video would have had a talk with his parents about not being comfortable with a …

Spaceballs Lesson on Guns

It’s humorous, but how many times have anti-gun people been converted to the pro-gun side after being out in a situation where they needed a gun? How many more are converted to our side after just shooting a gun and realizing that it’s fun and safe? I’ve gotten to the point where I basically refuse to argue with anti-gun folks. If someone approaches me about the issue, I ask if they’ve ever shot a gun, …

The Moms Don’t Understand Destruction of Property…

This week the Misguided Moms pointed their crosshairs at Kroger in an attempt to get them to “ban” the carrying of firearms in their stores like Starbucks, Chipotle, and Target. Kroger Spokesman Keith Dailey responded to the Moms request with the following statement: “Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don’t want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally …

“Nobody Wants to Take Your Guns”

Whenever folks on the anti-gun side of things are engaged in argument, they always go to the argument of “Nobody wants to take your guns!” Fortunately for us, social media archives their lies for us: If you have a gun, you’ll start killing when you get in an argument. Yeah… Guns are only for cops who have all that training… Ban the evil black guns, they are most scariest: Lock up all violent people…right. Assaulty …

Kay Hagan Bringing Gun Control Fight to Senate

Kay Hagan (D – NC) has been championing the “Bipartisan Sportsmans Act of 2014” which is a bill originally introduced to allow more hunting and shooting privileges on federal land. I’ve been skeptical of this bill since it was introduced by Hagan. She is reviled by most gun owners here in NC, even after her surprising vote on Manchin-Toomey last year. The Washing Post is reporting that the new Sportsmans Act is going to be …

‘No Guns’ Signs Aren’t Good Sellers

Saw this gem in the clearance aisle at the local Walmart tonight. Having about a decade of retail experience under my belt, I can tell you that items go clearance for two reasons: 1. There’s a new model coming out. 2. The item isn’t selling well. I think it’s safe to say that there’s probably not a new and improved anti-gun sign that actually prevents criminals from entering an establishment with guns, so I’m betting …

Facebook Could Be The Next Front on the Anti-Gun Battlefield

Late last week we received information that Facebook had completed an experiment to determine if showing users more happy or sad stories in their news feed would have an impact on their mood. If you’ve been using Facebook for any length of time, you certainly know that Facebook only shows certain things to you on your news feed. They limit the amount of posts that you see from business/brand pages, and you generally only see …

“The Pit” BBQ Restaurant in Durham Robbed at Gunpoint

Last year, The Pit BBQ Restaurant in Raleigh hosted Gabby Giffords and her anti-gun tour through Raleigh to have a conversation about guns. Gun owners weren’t allowed to have a seat at the table to participate in the conversation. Last night The Pit restaurant in Durham was the victim of an armed robbery while they were open. Three armed men broke in the back door, and two employees were assaulted, and I assume cash was …

Logical Fallacies of the Anti-Rights Crowd

The folks over at Slidefire put up a pretty awesome billboard over in the Chicago area, and the Misguided Moms are losing their minds about it over on the Lamar Advertising Facebook Page. The hilarious part about this is that nearly every argument from the anti-rights crowd was a logical fallacy of one type or another. Not a single fact based argument. Not. One. Let’s begin with the “Appeal to Emotion” fallacy first: “When you …
