Joshua in Nevada sends in today’s Q&A question asking about how many magazines to run on his belt for USPSA Production division.

I suspect I’m a little bit of an odd duck, in that I run 5 magazines in pouches on my belt, and I start with a 6th magazine from a pocket that goes in my gun at the Make Ready signal. A lot of folks do the same thing with 4 mag pouches, and a lot of folks use 5 pouches, but start with the 5th magazine in the gun.

My strategy saves my butt when I screw up about once a year or so, so I’ll stick with it. There’s really no wrong answer between 4 or 5 pouches, but I like having 5.

Also, I’m a big fan of the Ghost 360 pouches. They’re cheap enough, and they really work well.
