Gun Makers, Are We Really Doing This?

News broke yesterday that Rock Island Armory was coming out with a polymer 9mm double stack pistol, the SF9. Yes, the SF9. No, not the SR9 or PF9 or RP9 or the TP9, or even the CM9, PM9, or CW9. Not even the SD9 or AR9, VP9 or BP9. But the SF9. I have to say, I miss the days when guns had cool names like “Cougar” and “Witness” and not just random, meanless alpha numeric …

New Triangle Tactical Shirts: Best Ones Yet!

Okay, so I was walking downtown Raleigh today to get a cup of coffee from my favorite hippy coffee roasters, and I saw a dude sitting outside with a cool shirt on, and BLAM! I had an idea for a Triangle Tactical shirt. You know you want one. triangletactical.net/shirts A post shared by Lucas Apps (@triangletactical) on Jun 4, 2017 at 4:46pm PDT If you get it, you get it. H2O Fowl Farms – Tsgt. Adam Ginett Memorial

I just received notice that the annual Tsgt. Adam Ginett Memorial match will be on June 3rd at H2O Fowl Farms in Dunn, NC. I shot the match I think two years back, and maybe the first year it was held as well, and both times I’ve shot it, it’s been fantastic. If you’re an IDPA shooter, someone interested in shooting IDPA, or if you’re not an IDPA shooter but just want to support a …

Sig P320x5 is USPSA Production Legal Now

There’s been a bunch of consternation in the USPSA community over the past year or so about whether or not the Sig Sauer P320x5 would be made legal for Production division in USPSA. Personally, given that people like Bruce Gray, and Phil Strader were working on the project, and the late Team Sig were basically all shooting the P320 in Production, I didn’t think Sig would make a gun that wouldn’t be production legal. Doing …

Chris Tilley’s Hair…

After the last Front Sight magazine came out, I came across several discussions online where folks were commenting on Chris Tilley’s hair. “Does he have a mullet?” Well, as it turns out, Chris is participating in St. Baldricks, raising money for charity for children’s cancer.  If you’re interested in helping him meet his goal, here’s a link to his St. Baldricks page. If you want to hear more from Chris, check out the podcast episode …

Carolina Folks: There’s a New Forum in Town

There’s been some drama in the world of shooting/gun forums in the Carolinas over the past month or so, and in response to that, a group of folks have banded together to start a new web forum to serve the Carolinas. It is, and will remain locally owned. I personally know several of the folks involved, and they’re good dudes. (They’ve also done something awesome: they put the competition forum near the top of the …

What Are Your 2017 Shooting Goals?

2017 is fast approaching, and I think the new year is as good a time as any to set some goals for the upcoming shooting season. I don’t care what your goal is, it could be anything from shooting your first match (or even shooting for the first time) to becoming a Grand Master, or whatever. I’m just curious what the goal is, and how you’re going to achieve it. So, I’d like to make …
