First Responders

I had a conversation with a co-worker yesterday while watching the media coverage of the devastation left from the OK tornado. He could hardly sit still watching it, and I’m pretty sure if someone would have told him there was a plane waiting to take him to Oklahoma, he would have jumped in without hesitation.

He told me about how some people that he knows from his other job put in for vacation time after hearing the news, and headed for Oklahoma to help with the search and rescue efforts on their own time, and with their own money.

I thought that was awesome.

This week just happens to be National EMS Week, so if you see any first responders in your travels, give them a pat on the back.
