When it comes to compact concealed carry pistols, nobody seems to have got it 100% right just yet. I carry a Glock 19 all the time, because I have yet to find a small 9mm pistol that fits all of my criteria. S&W got really close with the new Shield, and I thought it was going to be a winner, but they had to add the teeny, tiny, little safety that I have doubts I …

I am just getting home from the low-light Action Pistol match at the Wake Co. Firearms Education and Training Center. Tonights match consisted of two stages with low light, that were shot using either a handheld flashlight, or a weapon-light attached to the pistol. I prefer a weapon-light, so I attached my Streamlight TLR-1 to my Glock 24, and shot the match with that. The first stage consisted of 3 IPSC targets at 7 yards. …

I just spent some time compiling about every action shooing sport that I could think of in the Triangle area, and adding them to a Google Calendar. Check the link here, and you can then add this to your own Google calendar, or you can just keep coming back here, and checking it. I tried to embed it, but WordPress is being picky. If I missed anything, let me know, I’ll get it added. There …

I’m going to start a small series of posts on concealed carry pistols, and the pro’s and con’s of each, based on my experience with the pistol. Lets start it off with the Kel-Tec PF-9. Kel-Tec PF-9 The first pistol I purchased specifically for the purpose of carrying, was a Kel-Tec PF-9. At the time, it was the smallest, thinnest 9mm pistol on the market. I bought it to use as a pocket gun, thinking …

In this post, I want to cover some points on concealed carry. With 49 states now allowing some form of concealed carry for citizens, and more and more passing “shall issue” laws every year, concealed carry of firearms has swept the nation. Americans are no longer allowing themselves to be victimized, and are instead standing their ground, and defending themselves from those who wish to do them harm. I’ve been carrying a concealed handgun for …

Last night a couple of us headed down from Raleigh to the Wake Co. Firearms Education and Training Center for the monthly Action Rifle match. I have recently added some Quick Detach sling swivels to my rifle, and was excited to shoot with a properly attached sling, as I had been running the sling literally tied around the free float rail for a couple months. Anyways, we had a great turnout, and many good shooters …
Read More »Safety Rant.
I’ve been noticing a disturbing trend lately, and that trend is stories about people being shot on the news, and the reporters saying some BS line about the firearm “just going off!”. Sorry folks, firearms don’t “just go off”. They go off, when someone pulls the trigger. When Plaxico Burress shot himself, it was all over the news about how his [gasp] Glock [/gasp] went off in his pants. I’d be willing to bet that …
