Guns America is reporting that the trigger on their upgraded XDs is about 8oz heavier than the previous trigger. Apparently their shooters couldn’t feel the difference, but they were able to measure it with a gauge. I’m not getting my hopes up, but I’m getting my hopes up.

Springfield just updated the SpringfieldRecall.com website with new information. It appears that their testing is complete, and they will begin repairing pistols in the coming weeks. We’re getting a free extended magazine for our troubles. (I’d prefer a standard magazine, as they have been unobtainable, but oh well…) We are pleased to announce that our testing was successful and is complete. Looking at the latest update that Springfield Armory posted on the Springfield Recall website, they announced that they are still testing possible fixes for the XDs pistols, and that they will begin repairing them once they come up with a fix. We originally estimated a 30-day turn-around time, but it has unfortunately taken longer to develop and identify an upgrade solution. 3 huge pistol recalls in less than a month. First the S&W Shield, then the Springfield XDs, and now the Caracal C Pistols. If I remember correctly, this isn’t the first Caracal recall, but this time they aren’t fixing them. Has anybody been able to find anything that explains exactly what parts are being replaced inside the XDs pistols? I’ve heard that the grip safety is being replaced, and that the new one has a roll pin in it, and that’s about it. I’ve spent a couple hours digging through forum threads and doing Google searches, and I still don’t understand exactly what is happening inside the pistol that is causing it to double fire, …
