Please Don’t Ruin Chipotle, This is Not Okay

image

I found this picture on Facebook tonight of two jackwagons in a Chipotle exercising their rights.

Before I dive into this, I want to make it very clear that I have no problem with open carry of handguns, and I don’t have a problem with open carry of long guns.

I do have a problem with people thinking that it’s okay to do things in a public setting that wouldn’t be okay behind the firing line of a shooting range. If the skinnier jackwagon above held his rifle the way he is now behind the firing line at my shooting range, he would be asked to leave.

Let’s imagine that instead of a tacticool monstrosity of a rifle, he were holding a pistol in the same low-ready position in a public place. Every open or concealed carrier in the country would condemn him. Chances are he would be asked to leave, arrested, charged with a crime, or worse.

Just because rifles don’t fit in holsters doesn’t make it okay to fiddle with them in public. You’re not helping.

I can guarantee that they don’t WANT you in their stores doing this. They might tolerate it for a while, but don’t expect them to tolerate it forever.

Don’t ruin Chipotle, it’s the only paleo-ish place I can go for lunch during the week.

EDIT: Looks like these jackasses got their way and Chipotle is asking people not to bring guns into their stores. Why do we keep doing this in places that are already neutral on guns? Isn’t that all we ask is that restaurant and business owners be neutral?

Thanks jackasses, now I need to find a new place for Friday lunch.

  1. What area are you in? I usually get buffalo burger/no bun at Bad Daddy’s or grilled salmon over salad at Cameron Bar and Grill. Getting paleo-ish food is a chore at restaurants.

    • I’m actually right on Glenwood, but Bad Daddy’s is closing soon, and I’m out of options now. We’ll see if they just release the statement to shut up the anti’s or if they actually post their stores. I suspect they won’t post, in which case I’ll still eat and carry there.

  2. Luke, you’re confusing Bad Daddy’s with Fat Daddy’s. They’re not the same.

  3. Yeah, I’m closer to mid town. Not sure on that area of Glenwood, hopefully Chipotle won’t post. Never eaten there, what do they have that’s ‘paleo friendly”?

    • My go-to is the steak salad, no beans or rice, add peppers and onions, Pico, hot salsa, and guacamole.

      • Works. Sounds good. Don’t know if you ever bag it, but Whole Foods has Paleo Meals for One in their cases where they keep the store-made prepared meals. Beef/Chicken/Fish options, all are pretty good, the fish (salmon) is a little too done for my liking. You may want to check those out as another alternative.

      • Good call, I’ll check it out. Gotta stay on it, hit the last hole in my belt today, feels good!

      • Just keep in mind Whole Foods (Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington according to GRNC) have “No Firearms” signs posted.

  4. Never seen one on the Whole Foods at Ridgewood – might not have been paying enough attention, my bad.
