Last year, The Pit BBQ Restaurant in Raleigh hosted Gabby Giffords and her anti-gun tour through Raleigh to have a conversation about guns. Gun owners weren’t allowed to have a seat at the table to participate in the conversation.
Last night The Pit restaurant in Durham was the victim of an armed robbery while they were open. Three armed men broke in the back door, and two employees were assaulted, and I assume cash was taken. The Robbers apparently didn’t see the “No Guns” signage at the restaurant, and because concealed carry permit holders obey the law, there weren’t any in the restaurant to put a stop to the robbery and assault.
I love good BBQ, but I refuse to darken the door of a restaurant that doesn’t respect my right to self defense. Besides, Clyde Cooper’s in Raleigh has the best BBQ and skins around…
This place now has a target circle on it. Fearing for the safety of my family and myself would prevent me from visiting this doomed restaurant.
The sign on the door (and pretentious BBQ environment) has always kept me out. I’ll keep eating at Cooper’s where I’m always treated like an old friend.
