Buy a Truck, Get a Gun – Lumberton, NC

Looks like Lumberton Ford Lincoln is running a deal: Folks who buy a new F150 pickup will get a $350 Gift Certificate for a local pawn shop to buy a gun.

A Couple Things:

1. I think it’s a cool way to sell some trucks. People like guns.
2. WRAL is being completely rediculious when they say that you will receive a “fully loaded” handgun in their article. You’ll receive a gift certificate to buy a gun at a federally licensed dealer.
3. I like it

” Without getting political, there’s probably a lot of people who feel some of our constitutional rights are being infringed upon, and I’ve been one of them,” said Jim Drost, sales manager. “And we thought it was a decent place to draw a line and show our support.”

So, if any of you new Ford truck owners come across this blog looking for something to spend your $350 on, here’s what I recommend:

Concealed Carry Handguns

• The S&W Shield 9mm is a fantastic little pistol that’s easy to shoot and carry. They retail for about $400 ’round these parts.

Fullsize Handguns

• Ruger has a new redesign of the SR9 called the SR9E hitting stores now that should be right around that $350 mark.

Rifles

• The Ruger 10/22 is a great little plinker that you should be able to purchase, and have money left over for ammo and magazines.

Shotguns

• The tried and true Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 should have several models within the $350 price range as well. Great pump shotguns that have been around for decades.
