Austin, TX Police Officer Shoots Gunman from 100 yards, With a Pistol, While Holding Reins to Horses

From the Fort Worth Police Officers Association Facebook Page:

312 feet. 104 yards. One shot. Probably one handed, while holding onto two 1000 pound animals. Lucky shot? Maybe, but it’s quite impressive.

When was the last time you shot your pistol past 25 yards? I’ve been getting out to about 40 yards pretty regularly, but I don’t have a range that will get me out to 100 yards with a pistol, unfortunately. If you have a steel target to shoot at, it’s fun to start at about 25 yards, and keep moving further and further away from the target while getting hits, pretty amazing how small the drop from a 9mm is over that distance too.

Here’s Kyle Defoor on the subject:

Tell me again how shooting steel targets at 15 yards during a match is too hard…
