On December 3, 2011, I had the opportunity to shoot a match at Range 37psr in Bunnlevel, NC. They hold a monthly match known as the “Infidel Gunfighter League”. The premise is that the match focuses more on sound tactics, than just on time, and points down like some other games.
I must say before getting too far into this, I am a gamer. I am not an LEO, I’m not, nor have I ever been in the military, and shooting for me is fun.
Shooting my first match down at Range 37psr was eye opening. I always figured I was an ok shooter, and figured that if I were to wind up in a gunfight that my superior competition skills would see me through.
I got destroyed. Had a great time, but I learned that I have a lot to learn if I want to be competitive in this sort of match.
This past weekend, January 7th, 2012, I was able to make it back down to Range 37psr for another match, and I feel that I did a bit better this time around, as I spent the last month reading about tactics, etc, and I really came prepared
