New York Senate Bill 7828

The wonderful, gun-unfriendly peoples republic of New York has introduced a senate bill that would limit law abiding citizens from purchasing more than 500 rounds of ammunition in a 30 day period.

This legislation has been introduced by NY senators after the mass shooting in Colorado. What these legislators fail to recognize is that the shooting in CO would NOT have been prevented by this legislation. All this bill would do if passed is restrict law abiding citizens from engaging in sporting events, marksmanship practice, and other activities involving firearms.

I don’t know about you guys, but I can easily burn through 500 rounds of ammo in a month, much more if I am shooting a couple competitions, and getting some live fire practice in over the course of a month.

The shooter in CO was in possession of 6000 rounds of ammo, however I believe he fired less than 200 during the massacre. At some point we need to realize that the shooter committed the crime, not the guns, not the ammo.
