News broke yesterday afternoon that country singer Toby Keith has begun posting some of his signature restaurants with “no guns” signage (specifically the newest one that just opened in northern Virginia). Considering the subject matter of many of Keith’s songs, this seems rather hypocritical.
What’s more interesting though is that there seems to be a good chance that we could see one of Keith’s restaurants right here in the Triangle after the new Bass Pro Shops opens in Cary.
I have to wonder if Mr. Keith even knew about the sign before the restaurant was opened, and whether or not he is even in a position to make the decision to post or not post one of the restaurants. I’m not able to find how much of the restaurant chain he actually owns, so it’s quite possible that he only licenses his name, and someone else is calling the shots.
It’ll be interesting to see if he does open a restaurant here, and if it’s posted. I’d hate to see a nice new restaurant on the GRNC High Risk Restaurants list…
