Today on the Today Show, Jeff Rossen talked about how to protect your family from a home invasion.
It starts out pretty benign. Keep your bedroom doors open so you can hear noises, bring your car keys into the bedroom so you can punch the panic button, etc
But then…
Zeins also suggests keeping another item in your bedroom: “Buy a can of wasp hornet spray in the hardware store or the supermarket, keep it by your bedside or the floor,” he said. “It’s more powerful than police Mace.
Keep wasp spray next to your bed to spray in the intruders eyes. Yeah… No.
Wasp spray is for wasps.
Bird shot is for birds.
If noise really is the best deterrent, I prefer the sound of lead breaking the sound barrier…
I’ve heard Paul Markel advise against this a number of times. Seems like if you want to use a less than lethal option, spring for a good can of OC spray. You’re life is worth more than a 3 dollar can of bug spray.
Not only that, but I don’t think it’s wise to be spraying that kind of junk indoors. You’ll contaminate yourself every time.
