Last year I made one new years resolution, and I borked it right out of the gate. (I resolved to see 199 on the scale at some point during 2014, but as I’m writing this on December 26th, I still weigh the same 233 pounds as I did when I made the resolution.)
Anyways, I want 2015 to be the year that I buckle down and focus on my shooting. 2014 was a rough year for my shooting. The wife and I have been on a really strict budget doing the Dave Ramsey plan to get out of debt, so I haven’t had a lot of money for matches, components, etc. We’ve hammered out just shy of $25,000 in debt since February 1st, which has freed up a lot of money, so that’s awesome.
If you listen to the podcast much, you’ve certainly heard me complain about missing weekend matches due to work, and that’s about to change really soon. I’ve accepted a new job (same employer, just a different position) that will put me on a fixed M-F schedule, so I’ll be able to shoot whatever weekend matches I like.
So, with all that said, here’s my new years resolutions for 2015:
- Create a regular dry fire practice schedule. No more “try to find 15 minutes a day” crap, but a regular schedule every week where I plan to do it at a certain time, and follow through.
-
Get back on the weight loss plan, it’ll improve my shooting, among other things. I’d still really like to see 199 in the scale. (Started at 283lbs in February of 2013)
-
Make A class in Production.
I have a few other things I’d like to accomplish in 2015, but these are the main goals.
What are you going to do to become a better shooter in 2015?
