Height over bore seems simple enough, but it’s something that I see a lot of shooters struggle with at action rifle type matches. A lot of people will pull short range head shots down into the Charlie zone in the chest because they don’t realize that their sights are 2.5″ above the bore line on an AR-15.
Live fire practice will really help the action rifle shooter. I run my action rifle load through the Applied Ballistics app with 5 yard increments. I then shoot it at 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, and 200 yards to confirm hold over or under.
