The article vaguely mentions that the incident happened while the officer was holstering his pistol. Just a quick reminder that there’s no need to race the pistol back into the holster. Ever since moving to North Carolina about 6 years ago, I’ve been baffled by the gun registry in Durham County. It seems that most gun owners (many of whom even live in Durham County) don’t even know about the registry, or feel perfectly okay with ignoring it. I’ve heard friends say things like “It’s not enforced anymore”, but the fact of the matter is that when a racist, anti-gun law is still on the books, …

This is great news for Wake Co, NC residents. ABC 11 just reported on the evening news that starting Monday 2/24 residents of Wake County will be able to apply for PPPs online, eliminating the need to make two trips downtown to the Sheriffs Dept when applying. Nothing on the Sheriffs Dept. website just yet, but I’ll be keeping an eye on it for any updates.

This is great news! More people being allowed to carry concealed always reduces crime. It’s unfortunate that more elected officials in other places don’t feel the way David Wood, the chairman of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners does: “It’s a big deal when it comes to Second Amendment rights and county commissioners don’t have any business doing legislation at a local level with such important issues,” he said.

I was informed recently that NC Hunters Safety instructors received a package from the state containing wording that firearms were not allowed in NC Hunters Safety classes, and the state even went so far as to include “No Guns” signage as well. I haven’t procured a copy of the letter, but it was implied to me that the letter also stated that the Hunters Safety instructors were not to be carrying concealed during the classes. …

A couple weeks back, I received an email from a listener who only identified himself as Mike. He attached an document that he created that goes through much of the North Carolina CCW information, and asked me to share it. I read through it, everything looked accurate to me, so check it out.
