‘Tarheel Traveler’ on NC’s Carbine Williams

Last week the WRAL ‘Tarheel Traveler’ segment was about Carbine Williams, an NC resident best known for creating the M1 Carbine.

I tried to embed the video here on the site, but it seems that they don’t have a way to do that. If you click here, it’ll take you to the video on WRAL’s website. It’s a well done, interesting piece.

Also, if you’re in the Triangle area, and you’d like to see some more stuff about Carbine Williams, head down to the NC Museum of History (Downtown Raleigh, and it’s free), and there’s a big exhibit on Williams. They actually have his shop put together inside the museum and you can walk around and see all the guns, tools, and everything he used to build guns.

  1. I’ll second the recommendation on the Museum’s exhibit. Both my brother and I really liked it.

  2. Do they show his 22 Mag LMG? It appears that it was 50 years ahead of it’s time
