Carolina Gunrunners

I had a chance to stop by Carolina Gunrunners in North Raleigh today for their “quiet opening”. I have known some of the owners/employees for some time, and was invited to swing by today and check out their new store before they officially open to the public. I stopped by about 4:00pm after attending a Carolina Shooters Club lunch with some forum members at a local restaurant.

WOW.

First impression: Quiet opening, not very quiet. The place was packed!

These guys have done an amazing job with their new store. Wall to wall inventory, lots of guns, good prices, and hands down, the best looking gun store in town, maybe even in the entire state.

One of my gripes about gun stores in general is that they usually don’t carry many accessories, and if they do, they carry overpriced junk. This is not the case at Carolina Gunrunners. I was pleasantly surprised to see things like Surefire 60rd AR-15 magazines, VTAC Brokos Belts, VTAC slings, QD sling swivels (bought a pair of these), Brownells accessories, etc.

I was blown away when I saw the selection of competition accessories. Glockworx ZEV Glock parts (I run a lot of this gear in my competition Glocks, and it is top notch), Arrendondo and Dawson mag extensions, Taylor freelance gear, APEX kits for M&P pistols, and a bunch of CR Speed products as well. With as many competition shooters, and venues that we have in the triangle area, it is refreshing to see a gunshop catering to us competition shooters.

There was also an aisle stocked full with what appeared to be the entire line of G-code brand holsters and accessories. G-code is also a NC based company, and it is great to see them getting a foothold the area.

Lastly, there was a lot of gear dedicated to hunters. Quality shotguns, boots, coolers, and good optics (no junk in the display case!).

Overall I think that these guys have done a great job getting their new shop setup, and they have stocked it with top notch gear, giving shooters in Raleigh exactly what they have been asking for.

They will begin being open for their regular hours starting next weekend (Feb. 18th) and their normal hours of operation will be 10am – 8pm.

The shop is located at:
1141 Falls River Ave., Suite 110
Raleigh, NC 27614
(In the Falls River shopping center).

Best of Luck guys! I wish you the very best!
