A couple of us stopped by the C&E gun and knife show this morning, looking for some AK accessories, ammo, and mags for a friends SAR-1. This was a smaller gun show, located in the Expo building at the State Fairgrounds, not the larger Jim Graham building.
I was pretty disappointed in this show. Gun prices looked to be about 10-15% more than the last Dixie show, and ammo prices were creeping up as well. The perimeter of the building was lined with booths selling fanny packs, salsa, and airsoft junk. More of the vendors seemed to have smaller booths, with less quality firearms than other shows.
I have been casually shopping for a J-frame S&W 442, and most tables were only carrying Taurus revolvers that I could see.
Prices seemed to be all over the map, with one vendor selling used, filthy USGI AR-15 magazines for $10, and another booth across the aisle selling the same mags, new in box for $7.95.
Ammo prices seemed pretty standard on most things. 1000rd cases of Wolf/Brown Bear/WPA 7.62×39 for $210 at most booths, and 1000rd cases of XM193 for $315 – $330.I ended up walking around the show twice, and the only money I spent was my $8 admission, which was probably too much considering the low quality of the items for sale.
