President Obama calls for Assault Weapon Ban

Near the end of the 2nd Presidential debate between President Obama, and Gov. Mitt Romney, President Obama was asked a question by someone in the audience about gun control. Obama responded by saying that he would like to reinstate another assault weapon ban, like the one that President Clinton signed into law in 1994.

Obama went on to say the following:

“…but I also share your belief that weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters, don’t belong on our streets.”

“…part of it, is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced, part of it is also looking at other sources of the violence, because frankly in my home town of Chicago there is an awful lot of violence, and they’re not using AK-47’s, they’re using cheap handguns.”

This is really scary stuff! I don’t get up on my soapbox very much, but this is the straw that broke the camels back. Obama will be coming for our guns in his second term, he proved that tonight. Make certain that he does not get a second term!
