Man Shot At Dixie Gun Show in Raleigh

This afternoon a man was reportedly shot in the hand at the gun clearing station at the Dixie Gun Show in Raleigh. The specifics on the situation are changing by the minute, with each news organization giving a different account of what happened.

What is clear, is that someone had a loaded pistol inside the area where it is not allowed to have a loaded gun. What happened after that is still sketchy at this point, but we do know that someone was injured.

There is supposed to be a press conference regarding the incident at 4:30PM today. If I find a link to a live stream, I’ll post it here.

Edit: I just listened to the press conference. It appears that the firearm was a 12ga shotgun loaded with birdshot. 3 people were injured, one superficial wound, and two more serious.

There will be a gun show tomorrow, however there will not be private sales of firearms allowed on the property. People will still be able to purchase firearms from the dealers set up inside.

The story that was given during the press conference was that a subject placed a cased shotgun on the table to be checked, and when removing the firearm from the case, it discharged, and injured three people.
