The UN Arms Trade Treaty Will Be Signed by the US

The UN Arms Trade Treaty will be signed by the President in the near future. Thankfully, after seeing the recent smackdown of gun control in the US Senate, I don’t see this getting ratified by the Senate.

Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) talks with Cam Edwards from NRA news below and explains what all of this means to us. I think he explains it better than I can, so have a watch, and tell me what you think.

I haven’t had a chance to look over the most recent draft of the UN Arms Trade Treaty, but I did cover an older draft of the treaty pretty extensively in Episode 8 of the Triangle Tactical Podcast. If you are interested, hit the link, and it will take you to a page where you can listen to it.

What you need to know about the UN Arms Trade Treaty:

The UN Arms Trade Treaty (in the form that I last looked at it) is NOT a global gun ban. It’s not a good treaty if you are a lover of liberty, but it isn’t a global “assault weapon” ban, or anything like that. We need to be skeptical of the treaty, and keep our eyes on where it goes after it is signed by the President.

As soon as I can get my hands on a current copy of the draft treaty, I’ll post it here with my analysis of it.
