Although HB937 doesn’t take effect for another week and a half, WRAL still has not taken down their database of concealed carry permit holders.
If my interpretation of HB937 is correct this database will be illegal come October 1st of this year.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this to see if the database comes down before the new law takes effect. We’ll see.
My interpretation is the same as your, as of Oct 1 the database would be illegal. Question is if it is not taken down before Oct 1, who is going to be the first with a lawsuit for privacy rights violation?
The search feature of the website data base appears to be non functional, at least for me.
I just checked it again, still works for me. Last I knew they only had certain counties permits in the database, so if you are outside those areas, it probably won’t generate any data.
