A few weeks back I posted that I had been informed that GRNC was looking into the NC State Fair being posted against concealed carry in (what I believe to be) violation of state law. According to the most recent GRNC Alert the good folks over there had a meeting with NC Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler today regarding the issue, and they were unable to come to terms.

GRNC is looking to file a restraining order against the fair to keep them from posting against lawful carry of firearms.
Last fall I went through the NC General Statutes regarding concealed carry and the NC State Fair line by line with my non-lawyer, college-dropout legal analysis and I really don’t understand how Mr. Troxler is justifying posting the fair against carry. Should be interesting to see how this all plays out.
