Rep. Mike Kelly introduced a plan to strip funding for the UN Arms Trade Treaty, and it was adopted unanimously by the US House. Awesome. WASHINGTON — Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) introduced an amendment last night to H.R. 1960, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 (NDAA), to prohibit federal funding for the implementation of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) for one year. The amendment was adopted unanimously by the House …

Wednesday afternoon NC HB937 passed it’s second reading in the Senate. There was some back and forth between the Senators, with several complaining about parts of the bill that don’t exist, or things that they didn’t understand correctly about the bill. Thankfully, Senator Buck Newton (GRNC 4 Star) straightened everything out for the rest of the Senators, and the bill passed the 2nd reading at a 2:1 ratio. There was one amendment added to the …

Gather ’round children, and let me tell you a story about something that happened to me last night. It might have been nothing, or it might have been something, I’ll let you be the judge of that. I shared this with the Carolina Shooters Club Community a couple nights ago, as I didn’t really think it was much of anything, but after having some crazy dreams about how it could have ended I decided to …

80% lower receivers are pretty cool. They were once something that most shooters didn’t really care about, but with the current political climate, many are looking to buy the un-serialized 80% lower receivers that they can finish themselves without having to involve any paperwork or FFL or anything. Polymer80 is a new company that will begin making 80% AR-15 lower receivers later this month, out of plastic. Surely you’ve seen the finished polymer lowers, but …

I’m not a fan of loaded chamber indicators on pistols. As a kid, I was taught that safeties on a firearm are a mechanical device, and mechanical devices can fail, so I’ve never been one for relying on any sort of safety device. I have several pistols with Loaded chamber indicators, including my new XDs 9mm, and to be honest, I’ve never used them. Its just as easy to open the slide and actually verify …

The Blaze is reporting that Lindsey Graham made some comments earlier today regarding bloggers, and whether or not the First Amendment (You know, that little freedom of speech thing) should apply to bloggers who aren’t traditional paid media employees. “Who is a journalist is a question we need to ask ourselves?” As a blogger, this infuriates me to no end. Nobody pays me to write this blog. I don’t make any money writing this blog …

After picking up the Springfield XDs 9mm yesterday, I was able to put about 50 rounds through it today. A friend of mine who works at a local range offered me a couple handfuls of 9mm that he’s picked up off the floor, and I headed into the range to shoot. First magazine was at 7 yards, and I literally had one enlongated hole in the target after 7 rounds. Second magazine was similar, as …

I just picked up a Springfield XDs 9mm from my favorite local gun shop (Carolina Gunrunners in North Raleigh). I’ve been waiting patiently for what seems like an eternity for this particular pistol to arrive, and finally today was the day! First Impressions: As you may know, Springfield ships their pistols in really nice plastic boxes, much nicer than those used by Glock and S&W. The inside of the box contained the following: The XDs …
