Ted Nugent’s Gun Country

Did anyone else have a chance to check out Ted Nugent’s new TV show on the Discovery Channel last night? I checked it out, and in all honesty, it was better than I was expecting. I can’t stand to watch most of the “gun” shows like Sons of Guns, American Guns, etc. They just don’t do it for me. Nugent’s show was a little different. Here’s the trailer from YouTube:   The show started out …

Ronnie Barrett – Barrett Firearms

Recently the video below has begun to make it’s way around the ‘net. It’s a good watch. Until I watched the video, I was not aware of Mr. Barrett’s history for standing up for the rights of citizens to own firearms. I found this letter that Mr. Barrett wrote to the LAPD some years ago regarding their proposed ban of .50 caliber firearms. December 11, 2002 Dear Chief Bratton, I, a U.S. citizen, own Barrett …

#WhatifChicago Firemission!

The city of Chicago is asking Twitter users how to solve their illegal gun problem, using the hashtag #WhatifChicago. I think we all know that the problem is their history of corruption, their former ban on handguns that was struck down by the Supreme Court, and their lack of legally armed citizens. Everywhere else in the country when concealed carry is allowed, violent crime rates fall. It’s pretty simple! Get over to Twitter, use the …

NC Emergency Powers Law Takes Effect Next Week!

If you have been reading Triangle Tactical for a little while, you may remember me posting about the “State of Emergency Gun Ban” that was on the books in NC until earlier this year. This law was ruled unconstitutional and the replacement law takes effect Monday, October 1st. From the NRA Email blast that I received tonight: The new emergency powers statute, passed in the North Carolina General Assembly and signed into law by Governor …

Eleven Years.

I don’t have a whole lot to say today. Dwelling on the topic of the 9/11/2001 attacks still bring me a lot of emotion. I will leave you with this: Never forget. Never forget how you felt when you knew we were under attack. That uneasy feeling, the fear, the anger, and every other emotion. Never forget those who were lost, those who fought back knowing they would die to keep all of us on …

Johnston County, NC removes shooting ban from proposed noise ordinance.

Last month news came out of Johnston County, NC that they were planning to instate a new noise ordinance for the county that would effectively make any shooting, other than hunting and self defense illegal. This riles the feathers of many residents, and even non-residents, and the community fought back. A petition was started, as well as a Facebook page (which gained nearly 2,000 ‘likes’ in just a couple weeks). The wording from the petition …

Ben Stein on Gun Control.

Sunday morning I was in the break room at work hammering down coffee like a crazy person when I heard Ben Stein’s unmistakable voice on the TV, and something about Gun Control. I immediately perked up, and my blood pressure began to rise, as I was expecting some hippy-liberal-douchebag feel good gun control nonsense. I was pleasantly surprised with what Mr. Stein had to say. He made valid points, and a well thought out statement. …

Dick’s Sporting Goods Asking for Citizenship Status When Purchasing Ammo.

This morning I headed over to my local Dick’s Sporting Goods to look for some cleats for shooting USPSA in, and I of course found myself over in the shooting department after locating the shoes I wanted. I hadn’t been in Dick’s in a while and I was quite surprised to see the amount of AR-15 accessories, and black rifles they had on the wall. I noticed they had some shotgun shells on sale, so …

Charlotte, NC Gun Show Shooting.

There are several reports coming out regarding a shooting at the Charlotte, NC gun show today. I was not in attendance, however I can only imagine that there was some horrible negligence on behalf of the shooter. Early reports yielded several different stories regarding exactly what happened, but it now appears that a vendor entered the show with a round in the pipe, and in the process of clearing the weapon at a later time, …

New York Senate Bill 7828

The wonderful, gun-unfriendly peoples republic of New York has introduced a senate bill that would limit law abiding citizens from purchasing more than 500 rounds of ammunition in a 30 day period. This legislation has been introduced by NY senators after the mass shooting in Colorado. What these legislators fail to recognize is that the shooting in CO would NOT have been prevented by this legislation. All this bill would do if passed is restrict …
