Apex, NC Police Do The #icebucketchallenge The Right Way

We’ve all seen a lot of negative news recently when it comes to Police departments, so I thought it would be nice to highlight a police department that is doing it right.

Today the Apex, NC police department took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for the ALS Foundation.

In the beginning I thought that the Ice Bucket Challenge was a stupid thing: dump a bucket of water on your head in order to keep from giving money to charity, hardly a noble cause.

However, the folks at the ALS Foundation have this to say:

As of Thursday, August 21, The ALS Association has received $41.8 million in donations compared to $2.1 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 21).

Apex PD took it a step further and allowed the public to purchase buckets of ice water to dump on their local police officers, with all of the money going to the ALS foundation.
