2014 Top 5’s

2014 has been a really awesome year for Triangle Tactical. This website saw more traffic than ever (more traffic in 2014 than 2012 and 2013 combined), and that’s pretty awesome. Even better than that though, is that I’ve actually gotten to know a whole bunch of you through the blog. As we’re wrapping up the end of 2014, I thought it might be cool to post some of the Top 5’s that I found interesting from the websites stats during the previous year.

Mike, Tom, Andrew, and Chris, thanks for commenting! If I could have exempted myself from the list of commenters Mark would have also been in the top 5, so thanks to you too! It means a lot when I drop a blog post and someone takes the time to comment with their thoughts. I really appreciate it, and I hope to see you guys more in 2015!

Top 5 Referrers:

  1. Facebook – It’s funny how Facebook works. I’ll link to a whole bunch of posts here on on the Triangle Tactical Facebook page, and hardly anybody will see them, and then BAM! out of the blue some giant monster page with a half million likes will post a link to an article here and I’ll get a flood of traffic that tries to melt my server. Facebook is a fickle beast, but I like her. I especially want to thank Active Self Protection, Weapon Outfitters, and Alien Gear Holsters for the traffic they’ve sent my way.

  2. The Gun Feed – At some point during 2014 I started getting a little traffic here and there from a website that I hadn’t heard of called The Gun Feed. As time went on, they started linking to more posts and sending me more traffic. All told, in 2014 they sent just shy of 20,000 visitors to Triangle Tactical. I really appreciate the support, and wish y’all the very best in 2015!

  3. The Gun Wire – A website that I’ve been subscribed to in my feed reader for a long time surprised me one day when they linked to a post on Triangle Tactical and sent me some traffic. After a short hiatus mid- year they’re back up and running again.

  4. Reddit – Oh Reddit, if Facebook is a fickle beast, you’re it’s schizophrenic love child. Reddit is a cool place in that it’s mostly self moderated; Crappy posts get down voted into oblivion, and good posts can seemingly live on forever. Reddit fell in love with this blog post in 2014, and has been sending steady traffic this way ever since. If you’re a redditor, I recommend checking out r/ccw, r/edc, r/NCguns, and r/competitionshooting.

  5. AR15.com – Arfcom was the surprising one in this list, and I had to do a little research to see where exactly the traffic was coming from. Apparently, the Arfcom folks have linked to a really early post I did here on Triangle Tactical about the difference between the Bushnell TRS-25 and the Primary Arms Micro red-dot.
