Sunday Reading and Announcements, and… Stuff

This is great news, too bad Dicks still won’t sell them ammo… This week I helped the guys from The Shooters Mindset on YouTube get setup with a podcast. They interview a lot of the big names in the competitive shooting world, and will be releasing their interviews in podcast format now, as well as their YouTube channel. Check out …

GRNC Tells Raleigh to get Their Act Together

GRNC is threatening to sue the city of Raleigh over their out dated signs in parks prohibiting concealed carry. The Raleigh Parks Director says it’s too expensive to update all of the signs at once, but they will be updated as they get damaged or worn: “Due to costs associated with and the potential of this coming up again, we are not going to replace all signs at once,” Sauer wrote to a Grass Roots …

Cabela’s Coming to the Triangle!

Sean sent this to me this morning, and it’s great news! Months back we received news that there were two large sporting goods stores coming to the Triangle, and I speculated that it would be Bass Pro Shops, and Academy Sports, but it appears that I was incorrect, and I’m ok with that. Cabelas has come out in recent months as a huge advocate for the shooting sports, as well as hunting and fishing. I’ve …

Sunday Listening with Some Reading Too

So, I’ve been meaning to listen to this super old episode of The Survival Podcast for a while, where Jack Spirko dives into ballistics, and explains things really awesomely. You should check it out. This is just cool: Pin-up girl nose art on an AR-15. I’d totally add something like this to my game gun. Pro-gun folks are calling their representatives 5x as much as the antis? Orly? Certainly 90% of Americans want gun control …

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court will decide whether a Virginia man should have been convicted of being a “straw purchaser” after buying a gun in-state and selling it to his uncle in Pennsylvania. The high court on Tuesday agreed …

Anti-gun Fight Brewing in Morrisville

Morrisville Mayor Jackie Holcombe, member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, is looking for a loophole in HB937 to let her continue to ban concealed carry in Morrisville parks. “Accidents happen, and families know they happen. And they would like for us to lessen the risk so that their children can play safely on playgrounds,” Holcombe said. Holcombe has asked Morrisville staff for a review. “I think that’s what’s appropriate is if there’s a compromise here …

Facebook Contest Complete!

Y’all guessed really low! Maybe it was my (lack of) photography skills that made the barrel look less dirty than it actually was. Either way, Kevin V. won the contest, and will be receiving some Triangle Tactical stickers! Post by Triangle Tactical.

Breaking Bread Cafe, Canton, NC likes Guns

I was just made aware that Breaking Bread Cafe in Canton, NC is gun friendly. Not only is it being reported that they OK with your concealed carry permit, they are offering a free drink with your order when you show your permit! This is awesome! In a time when many restaurants around the state are posting anti-gun signs, it’s refreshing to see some support on our side. I unfortunately don’t make it out to …

U.S. Senate Shoots Down UN Arms Trade Treaty

From The Heritage Foundation: The U.S. Senate responded decisively today to Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent signature on the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). In a bipartisan letter led by Senators Jerry Moran (R–KS) and Joe Manchin (D–WV), half of the Senate has officially pledged to oppose the ratification of the ATT. The signatories include every Republican Senator except Mark Kirk (R–IL) and five Democratic Senators. The letter, with its 50 signatories, ends any …
