We’re Back!

After a week of shenanigans, frustration, and temper tantrums, the Triangle Tactical Podcast is listed in the iTunes Store again! There’s been a lot of questions about what happened, and why it was removed and I can tell you that it has nothing to do with an anti-gun bias on Apples part, but rather an issue with the rss feed on my end… In the end, we’re listed back in the store, and other than …

McCrory Will Sign HB937

I had heard third hand that Gov. McCrory was on WPTF yesterday morning, and he announced that he will sign HB937 into law. I didn’t want to announce this until I had heard it with my own ears, and this morning Brian Freeman, the program director from WPTF was nice enough to send me the audio file from the McCrory interview, and I can confirm that Gov. McCrory did announce that he will sign HB937 …

BREAKING: NCGA Passes HB937!

Within the past 10 minutes or so, both the NC House, and the NC Senate have fast tracked, and passed the conference committee’s version of HB937. Just about an hour ago the conference committee’s version of the bill was released, and as far as I can tell, but bill left the committee in almost the exact form that it left the Senate, with only the Pistol Purchase Permit elimination provision being removed from the bill, …

Gun Rags Suck

I’ve recently spent some time in a local bookstore browsing a bunch of gun magazines. I’ve got to say that most of the magazines were just a boring read, but I always know it will be a good time when I find the section of the magazine with the self defense tips. The scenario in one particular magazine was that you are cooking dinner, and are attacked by a knife weilding attacker in your home. …

Andrew Branca is my new favorite person and should be yours too

You, like me, may have been hearing the name Andrew Branca over the past few weeks. He’s been guest-blogging the Zimmerman trial over at Legal Insurrection, on loan from his own blog. Oh and by way of credentials he’s written “The Law of Self Defense”, which seems to be a definitive text about, well, the law and self-defense. Oh and he’s also a multi-division IDPA Master. As if that’s not enough, though, he was recently …

Paratus Academy “Vitals of Defense”

I recently purchased and watched the first episode of “Vitals of Defense” by Daniel Shaw of the Gunfightercast Podcast, and most recently Paratus Academy. I thought the video was pretty cool, something that would be great for new shooters, especially those purchasing a firearm for defensive purposes. Daniel brings Paul Carlson of the Safety Solutions Academy into the video, and the pair show differing viewpoints on things, which balances the information nicely. As far as …

A Civil Rights Lesson with Profs Mason and Carter

I just recently stumbled on a Saint Louis University Law Journal article by Associate Professor Caleb Mason entitled “JAY-Z’S 99 PROBLEMS, VERSE 2: A CLOSE READING WITH FOURTH AMENDMENT GUIDANCE FOR COPS AND PERPS” which is exactly what it says on the tin: a line-by-line breakdown of the police encounter in “99 Problems”. It is also totally awesome. For reference, in case you didn’t immediately read the article after that freaking sweet title or don’t have …

IL Legislature Overrides CCW Veto!

And then there were none! Some months ago a federal judge ruled that Illinois’ complete ban on concealed carry was unconstitutional, and gave them 180 days to pass the law and setup a concealed carry program in the state. Following this process from start to finish has been interesting. First there was all kinds of drama about may issue or shall issue wording in the law, but finally it passed both houses with shall issue …

Jim Carrey “Apologizes” to Gun Owners

via Twitter Sorry Jim, but we know what this is about. Your last movie didn’t do so well, and you alienated a large chunk of your audience threatening us. The truly sad part is, your movie probably didn’t suffer that much from your comments or your song, no, it suffered because you aren’t funny. Go back to Canada, eh.
