Detecting People Carrying Guns

I’ve seen this picture around the internet several times over the years, and I’ve seen it making the rounds again recently. It came up in a post where someone was asking whether or not this sort of thing was applicable to people carrying lawfully. I spent a long time working a job where I conducted a lot of video surveillance on the general public. I used to play “spot the concealed carrier” and I like …

In 2016, Printing Doesn’t Matter Anymore

Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 33:18 — 30.5MB) | EmbedSubscribe: Android | RSS | MoreIf you carry concealed, you’ve probably been concerned about printing (having the outline of your gun showing through your clothes) at at least one time or another. Now that we’re in 2016 and everyone and their brother has a giant cell phone on their hip, I don’t think printing matters anymore. Listen to the Podcast: I spent about …

Just Give Them Your Keys/Wallet/Money

A common thing that I hear people who don’t carry a gun say is that you should just give the bad guy your keys, or money or whatever when you’re robbed. The fact of the matter is that this will work sometimes, but there’s no way to know if you’re dealing with a resource or process predator. Do they just want your money, or do they want you? (H/T Sean)

Cyclists: How do you carry?

Cycling was my primary hobby for a long time before I got into shooting. I reluctantly gave it up about 7 years ago when I was having some issues with numbness in my hands that I couldn’t deal with. I’ve decided to pick it back up since I’ve lost about 65lbs, figuring I might not experience the hand numbness issues now that there’s less of me. Way back on the podcast we answered a question …
