Give your competitors emergency information!

I’m curious to know about the safety briefs at your local matches. Are they really a safety brief, or are they just announcement time? I’ve become pretty passionate about the fact that we need to have actual safety briefs at matches, because if someone gets hurt the procedures need to fall in place quickly, and there’s no time to delegate after the fact. The shooting sports are incredibly safe, because we have such strict safety …

Intentional Fire at NC Shooting Range

An intentional fire was set at a North Carolina shooting range. Gas cans were used to burn down the shelters and the shooting benches at the range. Reports say that some of the other shelters had gas cans left on them that did not ignite. Folks, this is bad juju. If you’re a shooting range owner or member anywhere in the area you need to be aware of this, and take steps now. Game cameras …

SC to Secede over Guns?

Yeah, probably not, but a handful of representatives from SC have introduced a bill that would allow the state to secede should the federal government attempt to confiscate guns in the state. It’s a bunch of posturing and meh.

Protecting Your Data

Here’s a video about keeping a bunch of your data out of the hands of Google and Facebook. In just a couple weeks I’m already seeing less targeted ads on Facebook, and more general ads, and ads that are definitely mis-targeted at me, which is great. YouTube is becoming a hostile place for gun related channels, so ever since their last round of restrictions of pro-gun content a bunch of new websites have popped up …

This Week in “Skills > Tools” – IDPA Match

Last week I shot the H2O Fowl Farms Adam Ginette Memorial IDPA match with my Glock 19 from t-shirt concealment. I shot the match the way I actually carry. Glock 19 (that’s basically factory stock other than sights and a grip plug) a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB holster, and a cheap mag pouch that I’ve had forever. Discounting the IDPA rules violations I had a great match. I shot fast, got my hits, and even had …

Getting to Work Works: Shoot2Live IDPA Match Video Review

After the February 2015 Sir Walter Gun Club USPSA match, I decided that I needed to work on getting my butt moving during matches. I’ve been consistently dry firing since that match, and most all of the drills I’ve been doing have involved movement. Things like getting into position, leaving positions, reloads while moving from one side of the box to another, etc. Last night was the first match I’ve shot since the SWGC USPSA …
