I’m hearing some rumblings that there may be another new model from Glock released this weekend at the NRA Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. Could it be the unicorn singlestack 9mm, or will it be a subcompact, doublestack pistol in 9×25 dillon? Sadly, that seems more likely at this point. I don’t know. I feel like a 10 year old kid who still wants to believe in Santa, but knows he isn’t real anymore. If it …

Looking through Facebook tonight at all the pictures of fellow bloggers who are at SHOT show (while I’m stuck working all week), I’m seeing some pictures of Gen4 10mm Glocks. I’m guessing this will be announcement #3. What do you think #3 will be?

Glock has released their second of three announcements on their Facebook page today. It’s the Glock 30s, as suspected. The 30s is a Glock 30 (compact doublestack .45) with the slide from a Glock 36 (compact singlestack .45). The Glock 36 slide is a bit narrower than the Glock 30 slide, making for a slightly slimmed version of the Glock 30. This has been a pretty poorly kept secret by Glock, I’ve been hearing it …

What was once just an announcement, that turned into an announcement that there will soon be an announcement, is now 3 announcements. Yes, that’s correct. So today, Glock unveiled the Glock I.D. webpage. Unfortunately it isn’t ready for use, so right now they are just allowing people to sign up for it, and it’s supposed to be unveiled sometime in February. Below is the message posted on their Facebook page, as well as the picture …

So, today is the day that Glock is supposed to make their big announcement. Turns out they are going to be starting an online forum, but the way they worded their Facebook message just a moment ago makes me wonder if there is some light at the end of the tunnel, and maybe, just maybe we could see the mythical singlestack 9mm Glock. Here’s the message they just posted: So….. What do you think? Is …

Yesterday Glock released a puzzle on their Facebook page saying something about a big announcement coming on January 7th. Today Glock released the second piece of the puzzle on their Facebook page today regarding their big announcement. My guess is some sort of online social network, looks like it says: I.D. Online Community Sign up – Earn Rewards – Share Your Glock IQ I’m not really sure what all this means, but I’m intrigued. What …

Tonight, while perusing Facebook for interesting things, I came across the Glock Facebook Page. At the top of their page was an announcement that there is big news coming from Glock in 4 days (Jan. 7th?), and they were encouraging people to guess what was coming. As you may assume, most of the guesses were that they would be releasing a Glock carbine, or a singlestack 9mm pistol. Unfortunately, I don’t think either guess is …

This video has been making the rounds on most of the gun-blogs today. Lots of criticism, for one reason or another. Personally, I think it is great to see a firearm company not only advertising their product in the main stream, but also portraying the shooting sports in a good light.
Read More »Competition pistol sights – What works, and what doesn’t.
One topic that has a lot of contention among competition shooters is the type of sights they like to use on their competition firearms. When shooting just about any type of pistol competition the sights on the pistol are nearly as important as the pistol itself. Competition sights, especially for action shooting games need to be quick to pick up, durable, and accurate. I originally got into competition shooting using the sights that came standard …

I’ve got a handful of Glock pistols, all of which wear some sort of aftermarket sights. For a couple years now, I have been hammering them in with a framing hammer, and a brass punch. It actually works quite well for getting them into the dovetail, however for fine tuning the sights at the range, it can be a pain. I was home visiting my parents this last week, and I had the opportunity to …
