Smith & Wesson “Shield Yourself”

Smith & Wesson released a video a couple weeks ago with the slogan “shield yourself” not really telling us what the new product will be, other than that is will be released on April 12th. The video was only up for a couple days before being pulled from their website, and from YouTube. I’ve not been able to find it hosted anywhere else. Smith & Wesson has been releasing puzzle pieces on their Facebook page …

Bushnell TRS-25 Review

When I first started shooting 3-gun, I shot iron sights for quite a while, and I had a lot of fun doing that. I started looking into some small “budget friendly” red-dot sights to add to my rifle to try and speed up some of my times in matches, by allowing me to shoot rifle with both eyes open, like I shoot pistol. A friend had recently ordered a Primary Arms Micro Dot, so I …

ccwsupply.biz

Some time ago, I placed an order with www.ccwsupply.biz for a Ross leather pocket holster for my Kel-Tec PF-9. After placing the order, I was immediately sent a reply stating that the lead time on the order could be upwards of 8 weeks. This was not acceptable to me, so I looked into cancelling the order, so I could go buy another holster somewhere else. What I found was that ccwsupply.biz would charge a $60 …

Brian Aitken Conviction Overturned!

Brian Aitken was arrested in New Jersey a few years back for being in possession of legally owned firearms, and hollow point ammo. Brian ended up being sentenced to seven years in prison under New Jersey’s ludicrous gun laws for being in possession of his own, legally owned firearms. Yes, I typed that correctly. Here it is again : Brian was sentenced to seven years in prison under New Jersey’s ludicrous gun laws for being …

Victory for Gun Owners in NC Emergency Powers Gun Ban!

In NC, we have been unable to carry our legal firearms when a State of Emergency has been declared by the Governor. This was ridiculous, as most of the time, the SOE is declared for a very small part of the state, and the rest of us were left to suffer. It looks like this will change! Check out the link below. I haven’t read the entire press release yet, so I’ll keep this short, …

Is every elected official from New York a complete idiot?

The NRA news team interviewed Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel from NY, who is leading the way on the NY microstamping bill. “…sometimes the responsible people, the law abiding people, have to give up some of their liberty to make sure for the public safety of all.” Microstamping is the rediculous idea of having a firearm stamp a code onto the brass when it is fired, to somehow try to link the fired brass to the firearm …

Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe – Long Term Review

Since December 2010, I have been carrying either a Glock 19, or a Glock 26 in a Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe every day. I purchased this holster after purchasing two knockoffs of the Crossbreed design. After using the knockoffs for a while, I determined that the design was great, but the execution of the knockoffs wasn’t as nice as the Crossbreed, so I went ahead and made the purchase. As with most things, I would have …

Federal Champion 115gr 9mm – Why we always inspect our ammo.

Shortly after I started taking shooting seriously a few years ago, I began searching for the cheapest ammo I could find. I started shooting this Federal Champion 115gr 9mm from Wal-Mart a lot, because I could get it for significantly cheaper than other brands. Over the years, I would estimate that I have fired at least 20,000 rounds of this particular ammo, and it has served me very well. It is rather soft shooting ammo, …

ZSA Action Pistol – 3-24-12

I can describe this match in one word: rain. It rained, and rained, and rained, and I forgot my hat, and my glasses fogged up, and I couldn’t see. Match itself was great. 6 stages with high round counts, lots of reactive steel, and some challenging shots.I’m a huge fan of reactive targets, especially steel, so I was very happy when I walked the stages. Looks like I may have a small sight issue with …

Zombie Shooters Association – Zombie Action Pistol (ZAP) – 3/24/2012

On Saturday, a few of us from Raleigh are heading up to The-Range in Oxford, NC for the Zombie Shooters Association ZAP match. These are always great matches for those who like to shoot fast, and hose targets. I cant wait! Of course I will be representing the ZSA original 555 club while I am there. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a place to shoot this coming weekend to head up, …
