Sunday Reading

Here’s your Sunday Reading… MAIG made another stop this week in Ohio, and they were given a warm welcome, just like they were in Raleigh back in June. Uncle Teds wife was arrested at an airport this week for attempting to board a plane with a gun in her carry-on. I think it was an honest mistake, when you carry every day, it’s easy to forget that you have it on, especially if you carry …

Obama’s Executive Orders Against Expensive Guns

Today Obama signed two more executive orders which will have exactly zero effect on curbing “gun violence” in America. The first of the EOs stops the importation of US military surplus firearms. I can only assume after reading about this that this will effect the M1 Garands and Carbines that are sitting in South Korea. You know, because gang bangers are plaguing cities around the nation with 8rd, clip fed, 5′ long rifles that weigh …

Springfield XDs Recall

Oh snap. It looks like mine may be making the trip back to the mothership. Springfield Armory® is initiating this voluntary safety recall to upgrade 3.3 XD-S™ 9mm and 3.3 XD-S™ .45ACP pistols with new components, which eliminate the possibility of a potentially dangerous condition. We want to emphasize that no injuries have been reported to date. “Obama Promising Unilateral Action on Guns”

The Washington Times is reporting that Pres. Obama recently had a meeting with the Mayors of large cities which are plagued with “gun violence” (interestingly I didn’t see any names of mayors from more conservative, gun friendly cities). It’s a fairly tame article, but I found this quote, and it makes me wonder what Obama is planning: The White House said Mr. Obama told the group that government isn’t the only answer to lowering gun …

Moms Demand Action Doesn’t do Boycotts

Moms Demand Action organized a “Skip Starbucks Day” this past Saturday 8/24/2013, but according to their “About” page on their website, they don’t do boycotts… Moms Demand Action is not asking our government to ban guns, nor are we boycotting companies or colleges. We simply support common-sense solutions to the overwhelming and increasing epidemic of gun violence in America. Whether the gun violence happens in urban Chicago, suburban Virginia, or rural Texas, we must act …

Sunday Reading and a Question.

As promised, here’s your Sunday morning reading: Detroit Police to Mayoral Candidate: Get a gun. I thought this was interesting, especially coming from the bankrupt Detroit Police Dept. Calamity Jane over at SHTF Blog wrote a nice post about adding more movement to our daily routine. Its not a gun related post, but it’s good motivation to better ourselves. Michael Bane over at Down Range Radio had a nice recap of the Crimson Trace Midnight …

Exciting Podcast News

I’ve got a few exciting things lined up for the future of the podcast. If you aren’t already subscribed, you should make sure that you get subscribed so you don’t miss out. Some of you may be asking, “What the heck is a podcast, and why does Luke keep talking about it?” Podcasts are pretty cool. Think of it like an internet radio show that you can listen to whenever you want. Ben and I …

Stop Going on Piers Morgan’s Show

This is a message to every gun rights advocate out there: Stop going on Piers Morgan’s Show. The guys ratings are already through the floor, so it’s not like it’s a good platform to voice your opinion on gun rights. He’s proven himself time and again to be someone who doesn’t argue the facts, instead making up statistics to fit his cause. If you are approached by his producers, or receive any sort of invitation …

Weekend Reading

I’m totally ripping off this idea from Jason at PistolPackinDad.com (You should go subscribe to his feed). On the weekends I’m going to start posting some links to other blogs/news articles/announcements/whatever else I found interesting throughout the previous week: Miguel over at GunFreeZone.net does an epic smackdown of the Violence Policy Center, and their claim that .50BMG rifles are used in crimes all the time. Miguel finds that theres really only one murder that’s ever …
