Episode 63 YouTube Clips

Y’all asked if we would release some clips from the podcast episodes in an easily sharable format, so I’ve started dropping some of the better clips into YouTube videos so they are easier to share. Share away! Remington R51 Clip from Episode 63: Glock 41 and 42 Clips from Episode 63:

Official Glock 42 Video from Glock

Maybe the folks at Glock need to refresh themselves on Rule 1 and 2 of gun safety. On the Glock 42, my thoughts are a solid “meh”. I could take it or leave it. It’s a lot bigger than the LCP, and just a hair smaller than the Shield and XDs which both pack an extra round, and they are both in 9mm instead of .380ACP. I was planning on buying one for review no …

Cherokee County, NC Employees Allowed to Carry Concealed

This is great news! More people being allowed to carry concealed always reduces crime. It’s unfortunate that more elected officials in other places don’t feel the way David Wood, the chairman of the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners does: “It’s a big deal when it comes to Second Amendment rights and county commissioners don’t have any business doing legislation at a local level with such important issues,” he said.

Gun Registration

Connecticut Senate Bill 1160 took effect on January 1, undoubtedly turning many law abiding gun owners in the state into felons. This law requires registration of magazines (yes, registration of unserialized metal or plastic boxes with a spring in them) as well as registration of centerfire semi-auto rifles that contain evil features. From NRA-ILA: EFFECTIVE ON JANUARY 1, 2014: All lawfully possessed magazines that can hold more than ten rounds must be registered with the Connecticut Department of Emergency …

Magpul Moving to Texas and Wyoming

Today has been a pretty big day for gun news! Magpul announced that they are moving their corporate headquarters to Texas, and that they are building a manufacturing facility in Wyoming. I wish they would have come a bit further east, but I’m glad to hear that they finally made a decision and they are getting out of Colorado.

Remington R51 Pistol

This thing looks like a love child between the Springfield XDs 9mm, and a Kimber Solo, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I think it’s interesting looking, slim, and hopefully has a nice trigger. I particularly like that it says “Remington Arms Co. Charlotte, NC” on the frame. Unfortunately I don’t believe the pistols are made in NC, but rather that’s where Remington has their corporate offices. I don’t think this pistol does anything …

CSC PMAG 40 Review

For 2014, in addition to writing here at Triangle Tactical, Ben and I are both Staff Writers over at Carolina Shooters Club. We’ll primarily be posting gear reviews and some editorial stuff over there. Rest assured nothing will be changing around here. Anyways, my first gear review of the Magpul PMAG 40 is posted over at CSC, and I think you should check it out.

Happy New Year and more Leaked Glock 42 Pictures!

I wish you all great 2014! Resolve to shoot more, and spend more time outside… Ok, enough of that, here’s a leaked series of pictures from Guns & Ammo detailing the new Glock 42. The cat is out of the bag, but I still think they are holding information about the 9mm version from us…

Things I Want to See in 2014

1. I want to see Production A class on my USPSA classification card. I’ll need to step up my dry-fire, but I can get there. 2. Episode 100 of the Triangle Tactical Podcast. We’ll get there easily if we stick to our current schedule, but I’ve been kicking around the idea of adding a second, shorter episode later in the week to talk about some other things. Whatchu think? 3. The Unicorn (a singlestack 9mm …

Inforce APL Shenanigans

I’ve been watching this whole situation play out on YouTube and Instagram for a couple days. Apparently if you put your weak hand index finger in the wrong place on the Inforce APL light when firing you can make it fly off the pistol when it recoils: The folks at Inforce are saying that the HighCapacityTV folks are using it incorrectly, and shows a different way of activating and using the light to keep it …
