S&W Shield “No Safety” is Official!

Well, it looks official anyways! Gallery of Guns is listing the new Shield in their online store now, which is great news! Last week I posted about an image that I had come across while surfing on Facebook that showed the S&W Shield “No Safety”, but it wasn’t clear if the image was real at the time. It’s now looking like it’s real, and I’m pretty excited about it. As far as I can tell, …

I had the new Glock 34 riding in the brand new (literally picked it up 20 minutes before the match started) D&D holster, shooting my reloads. I took a procedural penalty on the first stage …

Adventures in Reloading #4 – Stickage

Since starting to reload 9mm I’ve been having some issues with ammo getting loaded that sticks in the chamber of a couple of my guns. I originally thought that this had to do with the somewhat “fat” ogive of the bullets I’m using so I began to load them a bit shorter, and shorter trying to back them off of the rifling a bit so that they wouldn’t stick in the chamber anymore. I originally …

S&W Shield No Thumb Safety

So, I found this on Facebook tonight… I don’t know if it’s real, or where it was originally published, but I really hope it’s  real. The safety was the thing that made the S&W Shield not as good as it could have been, and hopefully S&W has been listening. I went so far as to work on prototyping an extended safety for the Shield (here and here) but if I can get a Shield without …
