Would You Shoot This Match?

If I told you that later this year there was going to be a match that consisted of sample stages from all of the different shooting sports in a low-stress, fun environment, would you come out and try your hand at competitive shooting? Details are still a little slim, but John from ZSA is planning a match for one day this fall to have Steel Challenge, USPSA, ZSA, and possibly IDPA stages setup so that …

Gottlieb is Wrong on Background Checks

At the NRA Annual Meeting, the folks at Guns.com met up with Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation, he had the following to say about universal background checks: Two things: 1. Having to ask permission to sell my private property is a violation of my rights. It’s that simple. They only way to write a background check bill that protects our rights is to not write it. 2. If we concede and allow a …

130 Shooters At a Club Match

On Saturday I shot USPSA at Sir Walter Gun Club with about 130 other gun nuts.  This was just a regular monthly match at Sir Walter, nothing particularly special about it, other than the beautiful weather. While we were shooting the match at Sir Walter here in NC, the USPSA Singlestack and Revolver Nationals were taking place in Barry, IL, as well as a 3-Gun Nation Pro Series event in Tulsa, OK. The big story …

New Glock 9mm Released

But it’s not what you’re thinking. TFB is reporting that Glock has released a G19c with a Gen4 frame. Yep. Next year the big announcement will probably be the 23c Gen4, then the Glock 20 extended slide compensated model on a Gen2 frame in OD green. Sigh.

May the 4th be With Glock?

Someone please focus your Jedi powers and give me some advanced notice about these new Glock models that Glockmeister is claiming that will be released tomorrow. I’ve heard a couple rumblings from other places about this too, but Glockmeister seems to be the only place that has a specific date (May 5th). Are they trolling us? Is this for real? Who knows. I’ve said it before, I’m kind of over it. If a singlestack 9mm …

Tip: Lee Value Turret Spent Primer Fix

(Link for Email/RSS Readers) Since getting setup with the Lee Value Turret press, I’ve been having about 10% of my spent primers fall out onto the floor while reloading. This isn’t a huge deal, but it’s annoying constantly having to sweep them up. I made a quick, almost zero cost solution for this by molding some kydex around the three posts of the press to act as a guide for the primers as they fall …

Budget Reloading Setup Tour

Y’all asked for it, so here goes: (Link for Email/RSS Readers) Quick note: It looks like my press is moving a bit when I work the lever. This is because my tripod was in the way, so I didn’t have my foot on the workbench like I do when I’m loading normally.

Georgia Quietly Gains Campus Carry

Several weeks back while working on show prep for a podcast episode Ben and I were going line by line through the Georgia “guns everywhere” bill. We had heard that the bill included campus carry, the ability for teachers to carry, and a bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately after going through the actual bill that was passed by the Georgia state legislature we didn’t see the campus carry provisions that we were looking for, so …
