Ballistic Masturbation and Entertrainment

The folks over st spsamurai.com published blog post recently about “Ballistic Masturbation” and Entertrainment (A term that Chris Clifton from Defensive Concepts talked about in Episode 85 of our podcast.) I could name some names here, but I don’t think that is super important. What’s important is that you do your homework on a trainer before paying them a few hundred bucks for shooting instruction. I don’t care if someone has military or law enforcement …

The Tactical Assault Umbrella Strikes Again

California State University was placed on lockdown after police were called for a “man with a gun” on campus that turned out to be an umbrella. My first thought about this was that those fools in California don’t know the difference between an unbrella and a rifle, but then I was reminded that this type of hilariousness isn’t bound by the borders of California. It wasn’t all too long ago when this same exact thing …

Lessons from Shooting my CCW Rig in an IDPA Match

Earlier this evening I shot the PDHSC/Shoot2Live IDPA match in south Raleigh. I decided that today I would shoot my actual concealed carry setup in the match. Even though it’s a match tailored for concealed carry, I usually shoot IDPA with my Glock 34 from what is essentially a competition specific holster (even though it’s within IDPA’s rules, it’s not something I’d carry with outside of a shooting range.) The Gear: Pistol: Springfield XDs 9mm …

While the two are talking, Solo slowly reaches under the table, retrieves his blaster, and …
