Moms Planning a Secret Protest of the NRA Convention?

I have several Facebook accounts that I use to keep an eye out for whats going on with the other side. Recently I noticed this message go out across the many of the Misguided Moms facebook pages (They make many pages that all post the same stuff). HOLD THE DATE: Moms from across the country will be getting together in Indianapolis April 25-27. We’d love to have as many members present as possible. Please hold …

Triangle Tactical Turns Two!

I mentioned this when I recorded Episode 67 of the podcast last night, but for those who don’t listen (it’s OK, I know some of you just read the blog), Triangle Tactical turns two this week. Unfortunately I don’t know the exact date that I published the first post because I started on blogger, then moved to WordPress.com shortly after, and then finally moved to a self hosted site not long after that. In all …

Streamlight ProTac HL Review

I mentioned last month that for 2014 I’m a staff writer for Carolina Shooters Club, and as part of that I’m doing some gear reviews for them. This month I went pretty in depth on the Streamlight ProTac HL flashlight that I bought for the Day-Night-Day match back in December. Bottom Line: It’s a great light, as long as you aren’t using it with a handgun. Check out the full review over at CSC.

Democrat Support for Colorado ‘Hi-Cap’ Magazine Ban Repeal

A bill was introduced in Colorado yesterday to rollback the 15rd magazine capacity limit and some other garbage that was passed in the state last year. It seems like all of the good pieces of legislation are extremely short, and this bill is no different at just 2 pages. The Colorado House is currently sitting at 37 Democrats, and 28 Republicans. The Senate Democrats are only outnumbering the Republicans by one seat after the recalls …

Torture Test “Reviews”

A trend seems to have swept the gun and gear community over the past couple of years that I don’t really understand: torturing items with things they would never encounter in the real world. Dragging a Glock behind a pickup down a dirt road doesn’t tell us anything about the reliability, accuracy, or function of the pistol. It just tells us that in that instance we didn’t get enough garbage inside the pistol to stop …

Barry Promises More Executive Orders

Am I the only one who really isn’t all that worried about his promise of more executive orders? His twenty something EUs on guns last year were all pretty tame, and within his power as Chief Executive. Recently he issued a couple “executive actions” (press releases) about some other stuff that was still within his power. The only real concern I have would be more regulations from the BATFE on NFA items, but I think …

Bad Weather on the Way

If you’re in Eastern NC, and you have been out in a public place in the last 14-18 hours, you’ve probably sensed the hysteria building. Here in the Triangle were expecting 3-5″ of snow, with areas closer to the coast expecting up to 12″. As a native Michigander this isn’t much, but for the southern natives who don’t have a lot of experience driving in the snow, this can prove to be treacherous when heading …

Wolfpack Rifle Finishes First at The Citadel Invitational

The NC State Rifle Team finished first at the Citadel Invitational this past weekend. This is a type of rifle shooting that I really don’t have any experience with, but I’ve watched these students practice their shooting at the Wake County Firearms Education and Training Center in the past, and it’s an interesting discipline to watch. What’s even more cool about it is the fact that NCSU actually has a rifle team. How many state …

Logical Fallacies of the Anti-Rights Crowd

The folks over at Slidefire put up a pretty awesome billboard over in the Chicago area, and the Misguided Moms are losing their minds about it over on the Lamar Advertising Facebook Page. The hilarious part about this is that nearly every argument from the anti-rights crowd was a logical fallacy of one type or another. Not a single fact based argument. Not. One. Let’s begin with the “Appeal to Emotion” fallacy first: “When you …
