I’m as guilty of walking around with my face in my phone as the next guy. I’ll catch myself walking through the store writing blog posts, skimming articles, pasting links into the shownotes for the podcast, or even watching YouTube videos. I came across this video on Facebook today illustrating just how fast someone can be abducted. This is why it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and not worry about seeing what your …

From time to time I hear someone complain about how hard it is to remove Glock magazine baseplates. Several places sell special tools for this, and it’s all unnecessary. All you need is a 1/8″ punch to stick in the bottom of the magazine, and then you can just pop the baseplate right off. (Video link for Email/RSS Readers)

A customer at the WalMart in York, NC found a surprise when he went to use the restroom: a S&W 642 loaded with what appears to be 5 rounds of Federal Hydra-Shok .38+P. Police came and retrieved the pistol, and later a man called the police stating that he believed he had left his gun in the restroom. The above linked article says that they aren’t sure whether or not the man who left the …

Rolling Stone published an article outlining the 5 Most Dangerous Guns in America. They cover pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and derringers. Yes, that’s as specific as they get. Pistols, Revolvers, Rifles, Shotguns, and Derringers. I think that just about covers every gun in existence. Who writes this garbage? 4th graders? I was expecting some rhetoric about the uber dangerous Glock revolver, AR-47, and whatever else, but they didn’t even choose to be that specific, I’m …

I wrote earlier today about Kay Hagans “Bipartisan Sportsmans Act of 2014” and how I suspected that it was going to be a trojan horse for gun control. Earlier today Republicans who had cosponsored the bill also apparently felt the same way, and voted to kill the bill. Gun owners: 1 Kay Hagans attempt to save face with gun owners: 0

Kay Hagan (D – NC) has been championing the “Bipartisan Sportsmans Act of 2014” which is a bill originally introduced to allow more hunting and shooting privileges on federal land. I’ve been skeptical of this bill since it was introduced by Hagan. She is reviled by most gun owners here in NC, even after her surprising vote on Manchin-Toomey last year. The Washing Post is reporting that the new Sportsmans Act is going to be …

Saw this gem in the clearance aisle at the local Walmart tonight. Having about a decade of retail experience under my belt, I can tell you that items go clearance for two reasons: 1. There’s a new model coming out. 2. The item isn’t selling well. I think it’s safe to say that there’s probably not a new and improved anti-gun sign that actually prevents criminals from entering an establishment with guns, so I’m betting …

Since starting to reload using the Lee Turret Press, the most common questions I get asked is how fast it is. My particular Lee Turret is the value model, and currently I don’t have the auto-index parts for it, so I manually turn the turret to each station. I’m using the Lee safety prime, and Lee auto-disk powder measure. Starting with clean brass I loaded 100 rounds of 9mm (115gr Berry’s plated bullets over Unique …

A similar picture was posted on a Facebook group yesterday in reference to trophy hunting. I believe it was posted as a joke, but someone bit hard on it, you know, because trophy hunting is why the dinosaurs are extinct… Oh, and apparently hunting is no different than going into someone’s home and murdering them. Yeah.

Sucks. Yeaup, that’s a blister from the bottom of the trigger guard on my middle finger. I’ve heard people call this “Glock finger”, but I’ve had it happen with any pistol I’ve trained with seriously. Glock, M&P, whatever, it doesn’t matter. I guess I need to work on building up a better callous there…
