Maybe I’m just too simplistic when it comes to tacticessorizing my rifles, but I honestly couldn’t care less about any of these accessory mounting systems. How Many Accessories Do You Use? I tend to keep my rifle setup pretty slick. 13″ Troy TRX rail, Daniel Defense fixed front sight, a Streamlight TLR-1 light, and a sling swivel mounted about halfway down the rail. I’ve messed around with handstops, vertical grips, the awful angled grips, and …

I want to see some gun, holster, and weapon mounted light companies all lock a bunch of their engineers into a room for a couple days. Maybe they’ll come up with a solution for carrying a pistol with a weapon mounted light that doesn’t suck. Currently our options are giant lights (which we know don’t have to be that big, just look at the small flashlights out there right now) in giant holsters made of …

The past couple of days have brought some leaks of new pistols that will be dropping at SHOT Show later this month. As expected, Glock is apparently coming out with a line of optic ready long slide pistols. I’m curious about why they decided to go with long slide pistols for the optic ready models, because once you put an optic on the pistol, the sight radius doesn’t matter anymore. I’d be a bit more …

Post by Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners. Michigan has always had a weird CCW permit system that involved “County gun boards” that had the final say in whether or not someone would get their permit. Hardly what we’d call “shall issue” these days. I’m glad to see Gov. Snyder ditching the County gun boards in favor of a real shall issue system.

Right here in NC two (assumed) CCW permit holders shot themselves while fiddling with their blasters in parking lots. From the Hickory Record: On Sunday afternoon, a 42-year-old man in the parking lot of Academy Sports on U.S. Route 70 accidentally shot himself in the leg while changing the ammunition in his handgun. The day before… The day before, a 24-year-old man accidentally shot himself–also in the leg, and also while he was sitting in …

Earlier today the folks at ZSA dropped a bomb on their Facebook page: Sounds like a magical land filled with the sounds of high speed lead impacting steel targets, and enbloc clips going TING! as they fly out of John’s Garand. How awesome is it that there will be yet another competitive shooting venue in Eastern NC? Not only do we have the shooters to support it, but we desperately need more USPSA matches in …

Not long ago I posted about following the #kydex hashtag in Instagram, and how not all folks making holsters really know what they’re doing. Today I came across even more derp, and I had to share it. So, if you want to see a bunch of completely ruined tactically stippled Glocks try this: Go to Armslist In the search bar at the top of the page, type “stippled” or “stippling” and hit enter Click on …

2014 has been a really awesome year for Triangle Tactical. This website saw more traffic than ever (more traffic in 2014 than 2012 and 2013 combined), and that’s pretty awesome. Even better than that though, is that I’ve actually gotten to know a whole bunch of you through the blog. As we’re wrapping up the end of 2014, I thought it might be cool to post some of the Top 5’s that I found interesting …

Paul at Frontline Defense USA is running a ranging contest over at Carolina Shooters Club asking folks to judge the distance a 10″ steel plate is placed from the shooter. The winner of the contest wins a 5hr range pass, and you have until noon on January 1st to enter your guess over at CSC. I’ll be honest here, I know absolutely nothing about ranging using a scope, although I did do some fancy photoshop …
